Privacy Policy

Secgear is a business name of SNT Creative Pty Ltd (ABN 44 623 721 844) ("Secgear", "we", "us"). This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you visit secgear.com.au, buy from us, request a quote or contact us. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Contact and order details: name, email, phone number, billing and delivery address, company name and order history.
  • Payment details: card and payment details are entered directly with our payment providers. We do not see or store full card numbers.
  • Quote and enquiry details: what you send through our quote form, contact form or email, including garments, sizes, quantities, deadlines, and logo or artwork files.
  • Account details: if you create a customer account.
  • Marketing preferences: whether you have subscribed to our emails or back-in-stock alerts.
  • Website usage information: device and browser details, IP address, pages viewed and how you arrived at our site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see below).

We collect this information directly from you, and automatically when you use our website. We do not collect sensitive information (such as health information). You can browse our website without telling us who you are, but we need your details to fill an order or prepare a quote.

Why we collect it

  • To process, ship and support your orders, returns and warranty claims.
  • To prepare quotes, mock-ups and custom branded orders.
  • To answer enquiries and provide customer service.
  • To prevent fraud and keep our website secure.
  • To understand how our website is used and improve it.
  • To send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them. We do not send SMS marketing. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.
  • To meet our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed with the service providers who help us run our business:

  • Shopify, our online store platform, which hosts our website, checkout, orders and customer records.
  • Payment providers, such as Shopify Payments (including Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay), PayPal and buy-now-pay-later providers such as Afterpay where offered at checkout, to process your payment.
  • Australia Post, to deliver your order and provide tracking.
  • Jotform, which runs our uniform quote form and stores the details and files you submit through it.
  • Email marketing and customer service tools, including Klaviyo, HubSpot, and Shopify's own Forms and Messaging tools, to manage enquiries, our customer list and marketing emails, plus apps that send back-in-stock alerts, manage our affiliate program and display product reviews.
  • Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads tags) and Meta (the Meta pixel for Facebook and Instagram), for website analytics and advertising.
  • Embroidery and print suppliers, who receive your logo, artwork and order details so they can produce your custom branded items.
  • Professional advisers, such as our accountant, where needed to run our business.

We may also disclose personal information where required or authorised by law.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process personal information outside Australia. These include Shopify, Google, Meta, Jotform, Klaviyo, HubSpot and PayPal, which may store or process information in countries including the United States, Canada, Ireland and other countries in the European Union, and other countries where they or their sub-processors operate. We take reasonable steps to use providers with appropriate privacy and security protections.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to run the store (for example, to keep items in your cart), to measure how the site is used, and to show you relevant ads on other websites and apps such as Google, Facebook and Instagram. We use Google Analytics, Google Ads tags and the Meta pixel for this.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the store may not work properly. You can manage ad preferences in your Google and Meta account settings, and opt out of Google Analytics at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Customer lists for advertising

We may share your name, email address, phone number and general location (city, state, postcode and country) with advertising partners such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), so we can show you relevant ads and measure how well our ads work. These details are hashed (turned into a scrambled code) before they are uploaded, and the advertising partner uses them only to match them with its existing users. We do not share your order history or payment details for this purpose.

If you don't want your details used this way, email us at shop@secgear.com.au and we will leave you out of future uploads. You can also manage your ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings.

Security and how long we keep it

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. We keep it only for as long as we need it for the purposes above and for our legal, tax and accounting obligations, then securely delete or de-identify it.

Access and correction

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
